The Mid-American Conference (MAC) Tournament tips-off at 12 pm ET tomorrow, it starts with 2 sessions, afternoon and night. The afternoon session will highlight the Bulls from the State University of New York at Buffalo, winning 15 games in the MAC Regular season and projected a 13 seed as the leagues only bid (according to Joe Lunardi of ESPN). The Bulls’ 3 losses in the MAC Regular Season came to Miami (Ohio) in Oxford 84-81, Northern Illinois at NIU 90-88 in Overtime and Kent State (the defending MAC Tournament Champions) 82-79 in Kent, so really no blowouts in the regular season to MAC Teams and 1 loss in Buffalo this year against St. Bonvanture, with 8 losses in the regular season the Bulls come in here as the heavy favorite to win this MAC Championship and will play the Chippewas of Central Michigan University who won 7 games in the MAC Regular season and edged Bowling Green in overtime 81-77 at home.

Meanwhile, Central Michigan had something happen to their school on Friday that no one ever likes to see, an early morning shooting happened at the Campus of Central Michigan University. Police had reported that a 19-year-old CMU student was guilty of killing his parents in a CMU dorm and then running from the school to try to get out of it. It was also reported that the shooting happened around 8:30 am and the Whole Central Michigan University was put in lockdown. So in the end of this tragic incident that happened at Central Michigan, they ended up playing the final home game with no public spectators and only parents and family members of the players in the game. It was also moved to a public gym with a total of 150 spectators showing up to the game.

The Chippewas will be playing in tomorrow’s Quarterfinal with a lot in their mind of this shooting.

The later game in the afternoon will feature higher seeded Ball State Cardinals playing the Defending Champion Kent State Golden Flashes. The Golden Flashes return a majority of their team from a year ago finishing 9-9 in the MAC Regular season and 16-16 overall, basically a .500 team all season. Will look to repeat their title by getting 1 step closer and defeating the Ball State Cardinals.

The Night session is one to certainly look out for, with 4 teams playing, to start the first round-bye features the Rockets from the University of Toledo, which is only about a 2 hour drive from the Cleveland Area so it is certainly drivable for fans. They come in to Cleveland being led by Tre’Shaun Fletcher who leads the team in points and rebounding, was selected on the First Team All-MAC ¬†averaging 18.2 points per game and 8.2 rebounds on the season. He sure is looking to take a Toledo team into the NCAA Tournament that has a pretty good start as their run starts with the RedHawks of Miami University in Oxford.

The Final game on Thursday which is at 9:00 PM, features a top-5 rebounder in America James Thompson IV and the Eastern Michigan Eagles into Cleveland after a first-round bye and will play the local Zippies from the University of Akron. Akron has had a lot of success in the regular season, but didn’t win 20 games for the first time since 2004-05 that was the first year Head Coach Kieth Dambrot. Now with John Groce, the Zippies look to get back their program to the top, where they were for 11 years in a row. each team pretty similar record wise in a very good MAC Conference from top to bottom.

It all starts tomorrow with great basketball anticipated for 3 nights.
