Last Night It was announced that Corey Kluber became the first Indians pitcher to win 2 Cy Young awards in Franchise History. It pretty much all began on June 1 when he returned from the Disabled list it was just start after start with 2 losses on no run support, he certainly had the best season of his career leading the MLB in wins, ERA and WHIP. His season technically started in April with only 1 good start before heading to the Disabled List which came on April 21st against the Chicago White Sox when a threw a complete game shutout. Just making 2 starts afterwards he placed on the DL on May 2nd, and most people thought that he was just going to have a type of year that he had in 2015 where he was just not going to be good all year and he turned it around like it was just nothing, on his starts from June 14th to July 4th, which were 5, he struck out a Indians franchise record 10 or more batters. It seemed to look like that he already found his stroke just 7 outings after coming bak, and really the best pitcher in Baseball post all-star until the end of the Regular season going 11-1 record in 15 starts. His lone loss came against the Red Sox, he was pretty much unbeatable including he made 5 starts during the Indians’ historic 22 game winning streak.

The postseason told us all the Difference with Analysts and the public were trying to say he had back issues all series, he declined that and no further details were announced/published.
In the postseason, Kluber made just 2 starts in a best of 5 with a 12.79 ERA and 0-1 record. That was the last thing Indians fans had in their mind was Kluber having bad series.

This is not the end of it for Kluber, he is signed with the Indians through 2019 with team options for 2020 and 2021.

Indians have had good teams the past 2 years with coming up short on both 2 years, it is going to be tough to say that Kluber will pitch well for the next 2 years on his contract, he is going to be 32 on April 10th, and many are impressed that he had a career season at the age of 31, but obviously Age is something that is just a label put onto a person and hopefully next year it will be Kluber’s year next year to bring a world title to the 216 for the first time in 70 years.

It will all begin on March 29th for who will be the reigning Cy Young winner
